Welcome the New Program Assistant: Zenzele!

My name is Zenzele Barnes and I’m excited to join the Musical Empowerment Team as the new Program Assistant! Growing up, I loved being part of musical communities. Throughout my time in school I was in chorus, band, and musical theater programs. I truly believe in the power of music, it has the power to help young people build self confidence and connect with others.

I have a passion for social justice and using art as a tool for empowerment. After graduating with a degree in Communication and a minor in New Media Design, I have taken my her passion for arts administration to organizations across the Triangle. Professionally, I have worked to develop programs focused on supporting holistic community services and youth development. In my free time, I am an active reader, I love to sew and create DIY projects, and play music.
