East Carolina University

Chapter Overview

Musical Empowerment at East Carolina University proudly provides music lessons and mentorship for students in grades kindergarten through 12th grade whose families otherwise would not be able to have access to private music lessons. K-12 students are paired with undergraduate students at East Carolina University for free, one-on-one 40-minute lessons and mentorship. Through our Instrument Lending Program, we offer families free instruments and music books. We also offer teacher workshops and trainings to ECU student participants to improve quality and value of all lessons. Our lessons take place in the ME at ECU studio space inside of the West Side Strings School on Manhattan Avenue in West Greenville. We accept applications at the beginning of the Fall and Spring Semesters, and lessons typically begin in September and end in April. If you are interested in being a teacher or student with us, please fill out an application at the links below!
