ECU mentor takes top prize for "Take A Bow"
Musical Empowerment has named Maggie Hemedinger the 1st Place Winner of the 2019 Video Storytelling Competition! In August 2019, collegiate volunteers and music mentors were challenged to compete, with a chance to win cash prizes. The national staff at Musical Empowerment expressed gratitude to donors who made the storytelling project come to life, "We thank our supporters from the Newport Folk Festival for helping to make this possible and special thanks to Ramblin' Jack Elliott for recognizing our work here in North Carolina."
Maggie is a junior at ECU studying Music Education and Hispanic Studies. She has been with the ECU chapter ever since it launched in her freshman year and has, "absolutely loved every minute of it." Maggie has expressed her appreciation for the award and sends her appreciation to Musical Empowerment as she encourages everyone to "to take a bow!”
